How does UPKira decide a site is down?
A single slow check is not an incident. The monitor walks a fixed set of states, and nothing in a request handler invents a new one.
Step 1
A check runs on a schedule
HTTP, TLS expiry, and heartbeat monitors each get a durable slot. A missed slot is not treated as a healthy site.
Step 2
One failure is only a suspect
The first bad result moves the monitor to suspect. A second check confirms it before an incident opens.
Step 3
Alerts wait for confirmation
Email, Slack, Discord, and signed webhooks fire from an outbox written in the same transaction as the incident.
Step 4
Recovery takes consecutive successes
The monitor moves through recovering, then back to up. Customers see that on your status page.
